Marketing can be a confusing road to navigate with many different routes. Finding the avenue that makes the most sense for your business doesn’t have to be overly complicated. The list below highlights some marketing tools and ideas that are effective and won’t break the bank.

Social Media Marketing

Using your existing social media following to generate leads is effective and relatively inexpensive. Strategize a plan across Linkedin, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Each of these platforms offers a unique style of ad. Additionally, there are millions of people on social platforms. Define your demographics, decide what messages will suit each platform, set a budget, and run your campaign. There are plenty of low hanging fruit in your existing network here, you just need to know where to look.

Urban Marketing

Urban marketing is not new, but people are shaking up how it’s done. For years, people have put sandwich boards out front of their storefront or posted flyers, but this isn’t as effective anymore. In order to be more aggressive and generate more leads, it’s time to get creative.

Say you own a business that specializes in fixing broken electronics. To get people’s attention, create stencils that say something like “Stop! Broken screen? Call 555-5555.” Your message will be seen by countless people who very well may be in need of your service or product.

Unusual Sponsorships

Start looking for out of the box opportunities to market your service. People become desensitized to traditional advertising over time, so looking for fresh sponsorships can really catch some attention. Sponsor a community garden, an annual block party, or some other community event. These sponsorships help support the community you live in, but also connect you with new customers.

Content Marketing

You may have heard the phrase, “Content is King.” If you haven’t, it’s referring to the impact shareable content has online. Your business can create excellent content that in turn will bring in more leads. Blog consistently on your web page. Use the blog to inform the public about your service/product and position yourself as the thought leader within your industry.

Revamp Your Email Signature

This is a simple change that can create leads in unexpected places. Adding a link and call to action in your email signature can increase the number of leads in your pipeline. You are most likely sending out many emails in a day. Give your customers an easy way to click through to your site and a reason to do so.

Google Adwords

Google Adwords allows you to purchase ads for certain keywords. You can choose the keywords that makes the most sense for the product or service you offer. The ads will show up within the search results of Google when searching that keyword. Keywords with high search queries will cost more per click, but they produce more eyes and traction on your ads.

Optimize Your Landing Page

Have you performed the squint test on your landing page lately? It may sound silly, but are you able to squint, blurring your vision, and still clearly see your call to action? If you can’t it may be time to revamp your landing page. The call to action should jump out at the customer in a way that is noticeable, but not obnoxious. Once people are on your site, the site itself should be able to convert those leads into sales.
